Shari Jobe, M.Ed., LPC
My Mission
My mission is to empower and support people towards personal growth and healing while creating a meaningful life driven by one's values.
About Me
Life is much like a cargo train moving along a windy track, with some compartments carrying light and others heavy inner and external experiences. I believe the train can get stuck on the tracks sometimes, and people can benefit from having someone be present with them through the difficult seasons of life. I strive to provide a safe, warm, accepting, and non-judgmental environment where thoughts, feelings, and experiences are heard. I will be present with you as the "onion is unraveled," unveiling layers of emotions through self-discovery, enhancing cognitive, emotional, and behavioral flexibility, while also gaining new perspectives to challenges as you move towards your therapeutic goals. I am a Christian, open to the incorporation of your faith in the therapeutic process if you choose as well.
Experience
My professional experience includes working with anxiety, depression, self-esteem, trauma, grief and loss, and behavioral adjustment. The counseling approach I most align with and I am trained in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), a type of therapy helpful in encouraging clients to encounter their inner struggles differently and move in a direction towards values-based living.
